This garage sale find is reference to a very specific Marian apparition.

I’ve always been fascinated by them — very rarely does the apparition identify herself as Mary, mother of Jesus from the get go. It’s only later when the priests get involved that she’s pinned down that way and her message becomes a specific one in line with church dogma. To me, it’s clear in Guadalupe, Lourdes, Fatima, Medjugorje and all the rest SOMETHING has appeared to all those people — in another age she would have been perceived as a different kind of divinity, a goddess no doubt. The Virgin Mary was very important in winning over non-Christians who had strong Goddess traditions…This cheap little piece has a real presence. I especially like the bare feet…
