Backpack stolen downtown

Two men stole a backpack from a man at Packard Street and Fourth Avenue on Tuesday, Ann Arbor police said.

There were no injuries in the 6:25 p.m. incident, said Lt. Myron Blackwell.

The man, whose age and hometown were unavailable could not provide a description of the two men, Blackwell said, Police could not locate the suspects.

 

Car hits home, leaves scene

A car struck a house on Maus Avenue in Ypsilanti early Tuesday, then left the scene, city police said.

A 47-year-old woman woke up at about 1:35 a.m. to find a small white car had smashed into the cinder block of her rental home in 700 block of Maus, police said. She was not injured.

The car continued traveling west, police said. Officers are looking for a Mitsubishi Eclipse with heavy front end damage and a flat tire on the driver’s side.

No information was available on the home damage.
