TOPS, INDEED
Dear Editor,
Every so often I read a letter in our local daily Ann Arbor newspaper. I always feel a warm glow in my heart when I read such letters for to me they reveal one of the great joys of being a citizen of this little corner of the wide world. Most people don’t know that I’ve eaten poison ivy. I had to go to the hospital. The big test was the stress test. The eucharistic minister and I received communion. Many people may not understand this part, but I felt completely confident now, as I had the help and care of the Creator. It is bewildering to me that the press media and other consumer experts have spent so little time lifting the veil of trickery and deception of the grouchy world for joyful humankind, those poor souls who will be affected. In my innermost heart of hearts, I am aware of something even more wonderful than this – let us, during the year 2009, make Ann Arbor the tops, the most joyful city in the whole United States of America. That would, indeed, be something to make us all proud.
