Legacy

Legacy

At the old farmhouse

A bunch of kids drop by

Actual fans

We start work on a

Giant assemblage when

One of them comes in

And says Tekla’s outside

Yeah?

She won’t get out of the car

Really?

I walk out and climb in

She’s just sitting there

And won’t look at me

I want you to stop

Writing about me

She says finally

Oh, come on

I say

And give her my

Usual rap about

My work being

Her immortality

She argues saying

My students will

Be my legacy

Oh, come on

I say

They’re going to die

Too
