Conclave

Conclave

Conclave

The secret conclave has come sooner than I expected

There’s been some mistake in certification

And we must all go back to school

She goes to the next lunchroom table

Come on

I say Sit down here

Why are you always avoiding me?

It’s an age since I came here she says

And now I gather you expect to scheme darkly

I notice the priority she grants me

And it pleases but

There’s a strangeness to the faraway intentness

Of her eyes and I begin

Not to understand
